Lots of love for our Arizona Cactus League “Lemonade Man” Derrick Moore!

While Arizona Cactus League games with fans are uncertain at this time, one thing IS certain – we have lots of love for our “Lemonade Man” Derrick Moore!

We first encountered Derrick several years ago (2014) at Spring Training at Peoria Sports Complex. I had taken one of my favorite Cadillac customers and my two elementary school boys to the game. It was a perfect day out, we were having a blast and made fast friends with the other fans behind us in our section.

Of course we bought a few things to eat, some goodies, but every time Derrick came around with his amazing energy basically singing, “Lemon, lemon, lemonade!”, we were compelled to buy one because we loved him so much!

I’m not exaggerating when I say we must have had 15 lemonades- some sitting untouched – we did not care. We all took turns, myself, my customer, our new friends behind us- we bought an ungodly amount of lemonade and we had a great time doing it!

The “Lemonade Man” helped make special memories for us we will never forget, and we know we are not alone! Derrick was inducted into the Cactus League Hall of Fame in 2018.

According to the Cactus League, “he has fallen ill and is facing the burden of medical costs amplified by the pandemic.”

Also according to the Cactus League, you can donate to support Derrick and his family here:

The Arizona Republic also did a nice piece on Derrick Moore, his family and legacy: Arizona “Lemonade Man” facing tough times . Check it out and show some love supporting our beloved “Lemonade Man” anyway you are able- donate to his fund or share his story!

Lots of love to you Derrick and your family- from me and mine!
